Passage planning. A dark art, known only to seasoned mariners? Or a basic skill that all of use on a daily basis? In this short course, we aim to demystify passage planning and offer up some advice to help you get the most of your planning and preparation time.
Diesel engine
A lesson on the diesel engine, explaining its various systems, problems associated with each system, and how to diagnose simple issues. we will also go into checks and maintenance routines to get the best out of your boat engine.
Pilotage and Buoyage
This course covers all you need to know about buoys. How to identify them by day and night, what all the light sequences mean and what you should do when you come across them.
Develop pilotage plans to keep you safe during port entry and exit.
